Whirligig Construction

Our whirligig bodies are cut from 3/4" kiln dried pine. Each is primed with exterior primer and painted with two coats minimum, exterior latex high gloss enamel. We use latex enamel for it's weather resistance, durability, and personal and environmental safety. The wings, legs, or arms of each are made of 1/8" mahogany plywood and are painted the same as the bodies. Everything we make is hand painted. We use copper for the bushing in the bottom of the body and there is a nylon bushing in each wing (arm or leg).

Each comes with a stick and pin for mounting in a windy spot. We at Sierra Woodcrafts are very proud of the quality of our products, as our many customers regularly convey to us. We've been building whirligigs for over 20 years now and have the experience to provide you with a whirligig that will last for years to come. We welcome you to come visit us at our retail store and workshop in Pioneer, Ca. We're open 7 days a week and you can see us almost every day painting or building the whirligigs first hand.
